FMVSS 208 STANDARD

When the airbag deploys, the windshield must provide a solid point of support. This provides protection for occupants in the event of a frontal collision.

FMVSS 212 STANDARD

In the event of a frontal collision, the windshield must remain in place to prevent passenger ejection. This establishes requirements for windshield retention in motor vehicles during an accident.

FMVSS 216 STANDARD

When excessive force is applied – during a rollover, for example – the windshield must prevent the roof from collapsing in order to protect the vehicle's occupants. Roof crush resistance.
